Iain discovered folk music when he picked up a battered copy of Led Zep II. He prefers the gutsy, earthy side of folk music from Morris music through to Scandinavian death folk via Scottish acidcroft. Iain is also a member of Great Western Morris (but we don’t hold it against him ... much). He plays an assortment of strummy things, but hasn't yet flirted with the banjo. Usually with PMF he plays his Mandozouki: a humble Paul Hathaway bouzouki strung with heavier octave mandola strings. These give a deeper sound perfect for heavy metal riffing - a little unusual for a ceilidh band maybe, but we like it all the same.
